2020 Screenplay
by dr. anne watson

A psychological thriller,
like Harold and Maude Leaving Las Vegas
and then suffering a
Fatal Attraction.
Based on a true story about a loneliness-eradicating invention that the world is kept waiting for while the feisty
retired child psychologist inventor, driven by her own fear of loneliness, tries to "cure" her young sociopathic lover,
 even when his violence becomes lethal.

Set in a Mexican beach town (or any international backpacker/surfer world) the characters are based on real people whose names have been changed:
    Dr. January (Jan) Cook, the feisty psychologist;
    Carlos Gardel Cabrera, her young sociopathic lover;
    Pudique, the French woman Carlos loves;
   Jon, Dr. Jan's friend (would-be lover);
   Isabella, the RipTide Hotel concierge;
   Robin Cook, Jan's daughter;
   Rory Cook, Jan's son.

Writing began in the Spring of 2015: the Universe guided the author's hand. Through courses and blogs and professional readings (coverage), revisions have taken it from "Curing Che" to "Soul Child" to "Wrongful Therapy" to "The Burden of Solitude" and "Passionate Burden", and "January", but A THOUSAND REASONS is EXACTLY IT!
I am grateful to all who read it for me, improved the dialogue and scene descriptions, and gave me encouragement. Screenwriting is the most complex writing form: a doctoral dissertation is a cakewalk in comparison. However, it is exquisite agony to write a movie script.
I am learning how to pitch it, while getting my next one ready.
